Abhay Deol is an Indian actor and producer known for his work in the Hindi film industry. He was born on March 15, 1976, in Mumbai, India. Abhay comes from a prominent Bollywood family; he is the nephew of veteran actor Dharmendra and the cousin of popular actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

Abhay made his acting debut in 2005 with the film "Socha Na Tha," which was directed by Imtiaz Ali. Although the movie didn't perform well at the box office, Abhay's performance was praised by critics. However, it was his role in the 2008 film "Dev.D" that garnered him widespread recognition and critical acclaim. His portrayal of a modern-day Devdas in the film earned him accolades and established him as a talented actor with a distinct approach to his craft.
