Ramya Nambessan

Ramya Nambessan (also spelled Remya Nambessan or Ramya Nambeesan), born on January 1, 1986, is an Indian actress, television presenter, and playback singer who primarily works in Malayalam and Tamil films.

She was born in Chottanikkara, Kochi (Ernakulam), Kerala, to Subrahmaniam Unni, a former theatre artist, and Jayasree. Her real name is Ramya Subramaniam Unni, and she has a brother named Rahul Nambeesan, who is a music director and singer.

She completed her school education at Mahatma Gandhi Public School in Chottanikkara and later graduated in Communicative English from St. Teresa's College in Ernakulam. She began her acting career as a child artist with the Malayalam film Sayahnam in 2000, making her debut at the age of 14.

Following her initial performances as a child artiste in several Malayalam films during the early 2000s, she transitioned to playing minor supporting roles before essaying starring roles starting in 2006.

Throughout her career, she has appeared in over 71 films across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada film industries. She is particularly acclaimed for her roles in notable films such as Traffic (2011), Chaappa Kurish, Sethupathi, Pizza, Virus (2019), and Anjaam Pathiraa (2020).

Her performance in Traffic and Chaappa Kurish earned her the Guidance Chalachitra Award for Best Supporting Actress. She is also best known for films like Raman Thediya Seethai.
