Kriti Sanon was born on July 27, 1990, in New Delhi, India. She hails from a Punjabi Hindu family. Her father, Rahul Sanon, is a chartered accountant, and her mother, Geeta Sanon, is a professor at the University of Delhi. She has a younger sister, Nupur Sanon, who is also an actress.

Kriti Sanon attended Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram, and later secured a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. After completing her degree, she briefly worked as a model before stepping into the entertainment industry.

However, her most significant achievement came with the comedy-drama “Mimi” (2021), where she portrayed the title role of a surrogate mother. For this performance, she won the National Film Award and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

In 2024, Kriti had commercial successes with the comedies “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” and "Crew"1. In 2021, Sanon won the National Film Award and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for playing the title role of a surrogate mother in the comedy-drama, Mimi. This success was followed by a series of films, including the controversial big-budget film Adipurush (2023), and the comedy horror Bhediya (2022). Sanon has since had commercial successes in the 2024 comedies Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew.

Kriti Sanon leads a healthy lifestyle and maintains an active fitness regime. She enjoys meditation, cooking, and watching cricket. She is also a fan of chocolates, cheese cakes, custards, and moong dal ka halwa. Kriti Sanon has received several awards for her performances. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for Heropanti in 2015, and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Mimi in 2022. She also received the National Film Award for Best Actress for Mimi in 2023.
