Abhishek Banerjee, born in 1985 in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India, is an acclaimed Indian actor and casting director best known for his versatile performances in Hindi cinema and web series. He is the son of Aloke Kumar Banerjee, a former assistant commandant of the Central Industrial Security Force, and Sumira Banerjee.
He completed his higher education in Delhi, attending Kendriya Vidyalaya, Andrews Ganj, and later pursued an English honours degree at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, where he joined the dramatics society, The Players.
His passion for acting began early, participating in theatre and dramatics throughout his school and college years. He started his career in Delhi theatre and made his film debut in 2006 with a brief role in the widely acclaimed Rang De Basanti as a student auditioning for a documentary.
That same year, he began working as a casting assistant, eventually becoming a casting director for films such as The Dirty Picture (2011), No One Killed Jessica (2011), and Rock On 2 (2016).
