VTV Ganesh, whose full name is Ganesh Janardhanan (sometimes also reported as V. T. Vijayanand), is an Indian actor, comedian, and film producer who primarily works in the Tamil film industry, also known as Kollywood.

He was born on December 21, 1961, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Ganesh is well-known for his distinctive hoarse or raspy voice and for portraying memorable comedic and supporting roles in numerous Tamil films.

He started his career as a film producer before venturing into acting, and he made his screen debut in the 2002 Tamil film "Red," directed by Singampuli, in which he appeared alongside Silambarasan and Trisha Krishnan.

He gained widespread recognition and popularity through his association with acclaimed filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, becoming a regular presence in Menon's films. His breakthrough role came in the romantic drama "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa" (2010), directed by Gautham Menon, where he played Trisha's father and received widespread acclaim for his performance.

The prefix "VTV" in his stage name actually stands for "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa," reflecting the film that made him popular.

Throughout his career, he has appeared in over 30 to 60 films, portraying humorous and supporting characters that have become memorable to audiences. Some of his notable film appearances include "Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu" (2006), "Pachaikili Muthucharam" (2007), "Vaaranam Aayiram" (2008), "Podaa Podi" (2012), "Beast" (2022), and "Jailer" (2023).

He has been particularly recognized for his appearances in films featuring Silambarasan, where his comedic timing and expressive performances stood out.

He has received several award nominations for his comedic work, including the Vijay Award for Best Comedian in 2013 for "Podaa Podi," the Vijay Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2011 for "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa," and the IIFA Utsavam Award in 2016 for "Trisha Illana Nayanthara".

His filmography also includes notable works such as "Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya," "Inga Enna Solluthu," and recent films like "Conjuring Kannappan," "Varalaru Mukkiyam," "Naanga Romba Busy," and "Iruttu".

In addition to his acting career, he ventured into film production under his banner VTV Productions. He has produced several notable films including "Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu" (2006), "Pachaikili Muthucharam" (2007), "Vaaranam Aayiram" (2008), and "Vaanam" (2011).

One of his most notable production credits is "Thiruttu Payale 2," which released in 2017. He also wrote, produced, and acted in the 2014 film "Inga Enna Solludhu," in which he played the lead role.
