Sajid Wajid

Sajid–Wajid was an Indian Bollywood Hindi film music director duo consisting of brothers Sajid Khan and Wajid Khan, the sons of Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, a renowned tabla player.

The brothers were born in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Wajid Khan, the younger brother, was born on July 10, 1977, making his zodiac sign Cancer.

The duo's career began in 1998 when they first scored music for Sohail Khan's film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, a Salman Khan-starrer. In 1999, they composed music for Sonu Nigam's album Deewaana, with songs like "Deewaana Tera," "Ab Mujhe Raat Din," and "Iss Kadar Pyaar Hai" becoming hits.

The same year, they served as music directors for the film Hello Brother, delivering several popular numbers including "Hata Saawan Ki Ghata," "Chupke Se Koi Aayega," and the title track "Hello Brother".

Sajid–Wajid became particularly known for their extensive work with actor Salman Khan, composing music for numerous films starring him.

Their Salman Khan filmography includes Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge (2002), Tere Naam (2003), Garv (2004), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Partner (2007), Hello (2008), God Tussi Great Ho (2008), Wanted (2009), Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009), Veer (2010), Dabangg (2010), No Problem (2010), and Ek Tha Tiger (2012). Over their career, they contributed to over 59 films as music directors.

Beyond film composition, the duo mentored young talent on reality shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and composed title tracks for Bigg Boss 4, Bigg Boss 6, and IPL 4. Their 2018 releases included 3 Dev and Satyameva Jayate. The music duo was honored with a life membership of the International Film and Television Research Centre of Asian Academy of Film & Television.

In June 2020, Wajid Khan tragically passed away on June 1st, 2020, at the age of 42. Following his brother's death, Sajid Khan expressed that he wanted fans and the media to continue referring to him as "Sajid–Wajid," stating, "I am no one without him".
