Himesh Reshammiya

Himesh Reshammiya, born on July 23, 1973, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, is a prominent Indian playback singer, music director, songwriter, music producer, film producer, actor, and lyricist who works primarily in Hindi films.

He is the son of Gujarati music director Vipin Reshammiya and his wife Madhu Reshammiya. Himesh lost his elder brother at the age of 11, and this tragedy inspired him to pursue music as his career to fulfill his father's wishes. He completed his schooling at Hill Grange School on Padder Road in Mumbai.

Himesh Reshammiya began his professional career at the remarkably young age of 16, when he started working as a music director and TV producer for a production house that aired TV soaps on Doordarshan Ahmedabad and Zee TV.

He started his Bollywood music career in 1998 with the film "Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya," debuting as a music director in the romantic comedy at just 21 years old. His first Bollywood singing performance came in 2003 when he sang "Bas Ek Baar" for the film "Zameen".

He gained widespread fame with his unconventional high-pitched singing style, which became his distinctive signature. He holds the record for delivering 36 hit songs in a single year. His music album for Salman Khan's 2003 film "Tere Naam" is considered one of the best-selling Bollywood albums of all time. For the "Tere Naam" album, he won the Screen Weekly Best Composer Award in 2004. Some of his most popular hit songs include "Tera Suror," "Aashiq Banaya Aapne," and "Hookah Bar".

Throughout his career, Himesh Reshammiya has scored music for over a hundred feature films. His diverse repertoire extends beyond Bollywood to include work in Gujarati films as well. He has also served as a judge on numerous singing reality shows, including Indian Idol, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Superstar Singer, The Voice, The Voice India Kids, India's Raw Star, and Times of Music.

Regarding his personal life, he avoided discussing his personal affairs in the media until July 2007. During the talk show "Koffee with Karan," he revealed that he is married to Komal Reshammiya, and they have a son named Swayam Reshammiya, who was 10 years old at the time of the disclosure.
