Syed Jaaved Ahmed Jaffrey (born 4 December 1963) is an Indian actor, dancer, comedian, impressionist, and television personality known for his versatile work in Hindi films and Bollywood cinema.
He was born in Mumbai, India, and is the son of veteran comedian and actor Jagdeep (also spelled Jagdeep Jaffrey) and Subhaida Jaffrey. Javed comes from a prominent acting family; his siblings include actors Naved Jaffrey and Meenaz Jaffrey.
He made his Bollywood debut in 1985 with the film Meri Jung, where he played a negative character alongside Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri, and Nutan.

He subsequently appeared in numerous successful films including 100 Days, Fire, Earth, Singh Is Kinng, and Dhamaal. He is particularly renowned for his comic caricatures in Hindi cinema, notably his portrayal of a teenage thug in Bombay Boys.
Beyond acting, he is a skilled dancer, choreographer, singer, voice artist, VJ, emcee, and ad filmmaker. He has worked on dubbed versions of popular animation films as a voice artist.
Jaaved Jaffrey has been the face of India's popular dance show Boogie Woogie since 1996, cementing his reputation as "India's lord of the dance". His achievements include winning several awards and accolades, notably the IIFA Award and the National Film Award for his work. He holds life membership of the International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film & Television.
In 2015, he served as the brand ambassador of the first India International Animation and Cartoon Film Festival.
Moreover, he also engaged in politics by joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in March 2014. He contested the 2014 Indian general election from the Lucknow constituency but finished in fifth place. He received his early education at St. Teresa's High School in Mumbai and later completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from RD National College in Mumbai.
