Shakti Mohan

Shakti Mohan is an Indian dancer, choreographer, actress, and television personality born on October 12, 1985, in Delhi, India.

She is primarily known as a contemporary dancer and shot to national fame by winning Zee TV's dance reality show Dance India Dance Season 2 in 2009, for which she received a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh and a Suzuki WagonR car.

She was originally from Delhi but has been living in Mumbai since 2006. She studied at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, a boarding school, and later earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Political Science from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.

Before her dance career took off, she had aspired to become an IAS officer. She graduated with a diploma in dance from the Terence Lewis Dance Foundation Scholarship Trust (also known as Terence Lewis Professional Training Institute) in 2009.

Her dance journey includes a significant childhood accident that caused a serious injury; doctors initially declared she might not be able to walk again, but with the support of her friends and family, she overcame this major challenge.

In 2014, she was a contestant and finalist on the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Since 2015, Shakti has served as a judge and captain on the Indian reality show Dance Plus from its inception.

Her first song as a choreographer in Bollywood was "Nainowale Ne" in the movie Padmaavat. She owns her own dance brand called Nritya Shakti. She has also worked as a coach on reality shows like Dancing with the Stars.

She is the daughter of Brijmohan and Kusum Mohan and has three sisters named Neeti, Mukti, and Kirti.
