Faisal Khan

Mohammad Faisal Hussain Khan (born 3 August 1966), commonly known as Faisal Khan, is an Indian actor who has appeared in Hindi films. He is best known for his role as Shankar (also called Shane) in the 2000 film Mela, which starred his younger brother, Aamir Khan, and Twinkle Khanna.

Faisal Khan was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a family deeply connected to Indian cinema. His uncle was the renowned filmmaker Nasir Hussain, and his father was Hussain Khan. He began his career extremely early as a child actor, appearing at the age of 3 in Nasir Hussain's 1969 film Pyar Ka Mausam, where he portrayed a young version of Shashi Kapoor's character.

His adult debut in Bollywood came in 1988 with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, in which he played a minor role as a member of the villain's gang.

Beyond acting, he worked behind the camera as an assistant director. He served as an assistant director on his father's 1990 film Tum Mere Ho and contributed creatively to various other productions over the years. His filmography includes notable titles such as Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Madhosh (1994), where he played the lead role, Border Hindustan Ka, Kaboo, and Dushmani (2002).

His acting career spanned two main periods: from 1988 to 2005 and again from 2015 to 2022.

Despite his prominent family connections and early recognition, particularly for Mela, his career in Bollywood was relatively brief and varied compared to his brother Aamir's enduring stardom. He remains recognized in Indian cinema primarily for his familial relationship to Aamir Khan and his distinctive performance as the antagonistic Shankar in Mela.
