Sweta Singh (also spelled Shweta Singh) is a prominent Indian journalist and news anchor who serves as a news anchor and senior executive editor of special programming at Aaj Tak, one of India’s leading Hindi news channels.
She was born on August 21, 1977, in Patna, Bihar, into a middle-class Bhumihar Brahmin Hindu family. Singh completed her graduation in Mass Communication from Patna University.
She began her journalism career while still in the first year of her undergraduate studies, writing early bylines for The Times of India Patna edition and Hindustan Times Patna edition.

She transitioned to electronic media in 1998 and subsequently worked for Zee News and Sahara before joining Aaj Tak in 2002, where she has remained for over 20 years. She is widely recognized for her expertise in covering sports-related news.
Her sports show “Sourav ka Sixer” won the award for Best Sports Program by the Sports Journalism Federation of India (SJFI) in 2005. Singh has received multiple prestigious awards throughout her career, including Best Anchor Awards, the Dada Saheb Film Foundation Award for Best Journalist, Best Talk Show, Best Producer in 2013, and the ENBA Best Business Award for “Swetapatra Budget” in 2014.
