Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna (born Tina Jatin Khanna on December 29, 1974) is an Indian author, newspaper columnist, interior designer, film producer, and former Bollywood actress. She is the daughter of veteran actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, both of whom were superstar actors in Hindi cinema.

She attended New Era High School in Panchgani and later studied at the NM College of Commerce and Economics. After completing her class 12th, she initially wanted to pursue a career as a chartered accountant and even took the entrance examination, but she joined the film industry instead on her parents' insistence. She made her screen debut opposite Bobby Deol in Rajkumar Santoshi's film "Barsaat" in 1995.

She appeared in several Bollywood films during the late 1990s and early 2000s, including "Mann" (1999) and "Josh" (2000). She left the film industry after her marriage to actor Akshay Kumar on January 17, 2001. Together, they have two children: a son named Aarav and a daughter named Nitara.

After retiring from acting, she reinvented herself as a bestselling author. In 2015, she released her debut book "Mrs Funnybones," inspired by her popular newspaper column of the same name.

She is one of Times of India's most read columnists and has won numerous awards for her writing. Following the success of her first book, she authored "The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad" (2016), a collection of short stories, and "Pyjamas Are Forgiving" (2018), a novel exploring relationships, self-discovery, and healing.

She is also a film producer and produces many films under the banner of Gracing Gold Pictures. She is the founder of Mrs Funnybones Movies and in 2018 produced the highly acclaimed film "Padman".

Moreover, she runs a candle business with her mother Dimple Kapadia that operates in India as well as abroad. She is also the owner of an interior designing firm called The Wide Window in Mumbai.
