Tarana Raja

Tarana Raja (born 24 January 1977) is an Indian actress, radio jockey, television anchor, podcaster and dancer who has worked in film, television and radio since the early 2000s.

She is best known for her radio partnership with Ashish Jagtiani, her work as a television presenter, and supporting appearances in Hindi films and TV serials.

Tarana Raja was born on 24 January 1977 in New Delhi, India, to Rabindranath Raja and actress Madhu Raja. She moved to Mumbai with her family during childhood and trained in dance, studying at the Shiamak Davar academy and learning classical Kathak; she has been recognized for her dance skills with honors such as the title “Shringar Mani.”

She completed her collegiate studies in Mumbai before beginning a career in the performing arts.

She began her professional career in performing arts and broadcasting; she worked as a Kathak instructor at Shiamak Davar’s dance academy before moving into radio and television. She debuted on television with the program Sanskruti in 2001 and gained public prominence as one half of the popular Mumbai radio show “Jaggu and Tarana,” co-hosted with Ashish Jagtiani, which won industry awards and expanded her visibility across media.

Her radio success led to television opportunities, including anchors and chat shows, and to occasional hosting of award ceremonies and special programs.

She has acted in supporting roles in several Hindi films and television serials, including appearances in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007) and other feature films and episodic TV series.
