Sonali Bendre

Sonali Bendre (born January 1, 1975, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) is an Indian actress, model, television host, judge, and podcaster, predominantly known for her work in Hindi films as well as Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. She is considered one of the leading actresses of Indian cinema during the 1990s and early 2000s.

Bendre began her career as a model before being selected for the Stardust Talent Search, which led her to Bombay where she received training from top actors and performers of the Indian film industry.

She has three sisters and described herself as a quiet child who loved reading while growing up.

Her acting debut came in 1994 with the film Aag starring Govinda, which earned her the Filmfare Award for New Face of the Year (also called "Newcomer of the Year") in 1995.

After encountering several box office failures in her early career, she achieved her breakthrough with the romantic action film Diljale (1996). She subsequently received plaudits for her performances in notable films including Bhai (1997), Sarfarosh (1999), Zakhm, Duplicate, Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999), Dil Hi Dil Mein (2000), Tera Mera Saath Rahey, and Anaahat (2003).

She starred opposite major Bollywood stars such as Sunjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan. Among her other notable appearances are Kal Ho Naa Ho, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, and The Broken News.

She has been active in the industry from 1994 to present. Alongside her film work, she appeared as a judge on reality shows including India's Got Talent and India's Best Dramebaaz. She later starred in the television series Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye (2014) and The Broken News (2022–2024). Bendre is also a celebrity endorser for various brands and products.

In her personal life, Sonali Bendre married filmmaker Goldie Behl in 2002. During 2005, she became a mother to a son. She follows Hinduism. Bendre stands 5'8" tall, weighs approximately 50 kg, and has black hair.
