Sana Khan

Saiyad Sana Khan (born 21 August 1988) is an Indian businesswoman and former actress who predominantly worked in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu language films before retiring from the film industry in 2020.

She was born in Mumbai, India, and began her career in modeling at a young age, appearing in more than 30 television advertisements alongside notable actors such as Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. Her father is a Malayali Muslim from Kannur, and her mother, Saeeda, is from Mumbai.

Her first film was the low-budget B-movie Yehi Hai High Society (2005), which opened doors to small song-and-dance appearances in various films and numerous television commercials.

Her debut Tamil film, Silambattam (2008), launched her into the limelight and garnered her significant praise for her performance as Janu, a tomboyish village girl.

For this role, she received the 2009 ITFA Best New Actress Award in Singapore. Following this success, she appeared in Telugu films including Kalyanram Kathi and the bilingual thriller Payanam/Gaganam, which performed well both critically and commercially. She also worked in Kannada cinema with the film Kool.
