She is the youngest of three sisters, Sushma Reddy and Meghna Reddy, who are also involved in the entertainment and media industry as popular VJs or actresses. Sameera graduated from Sydenham College and can speak fluently in both Hindi and Telugu.
Her career began in modeling, where she worked as a model for the international brand Lissome during her early days. At age 17, after becoming a graduate, she made her acting debut on television by appearing in ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas's romantic music video "Aur Aahista," which was appreciated and brought attention to her looks.

She earned her ticket to Bollywood with a pivotal role in the Hindi feature film "Maine Dil Tujhko Diya" in 2002, which marked her first Hindi film.
Sameera Reddy predominantly appeared in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films throughout her career spanning from 2002 to 2021. She became famous for her role in the film "Musafir" and gained significant acclaim for her role in "Race" (2008) alongside Saif Ali Khan.
