Sakshi Tanwar

Sakshi Tanwar (born 12 January 1973 in Alwar, Rajasthan) is an acclaimed Indian actress and television presenter who primarily works in Hindi films and television.

She is the daughter of Rajendra Singh Tanwar, a retired CBI officer, and grew up in a middle-class family. Sakshi completed her schooling at several Kendriya Vidyalayas across India and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.

Her entertainment career began in 1998 when she auditioned for and was selected as the presenter of Doordarshan's film songs program "Albela Sur Mela". Her inclination toward acting developed during college when she served as secretary and president of her college's Dramatic Society. Before her presenting debut, she had worked as a sales trainee in a five-star hotel with a stipend of just Rs. 900.

She rose to legendary prominence through her iconic portrayal of Parvati Agarwal in the widely acclaimed soap opera "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii," which ran from 2000 to 2008 for approximately eight years.

She also appeared in the historical drama "Samrat Prithviraj" (2022) and films like "Mohalla Assi". Her OTT work includes notable series such as "Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat" (2017–2019), "Mission Over Mars" (2019), and "Mai: A Mother's Rage" (2022), with the latter winning her the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actress Critics – Drama Series. She has also hosted popular shows including "Crime Patrol" and "Code Red".

She is a single mother who adopted a daughter named Dityaa in 2018.
