Sanya Malhotra is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi films. She was born on February 25, 1992, in Delhi, India, into a Punjabi family.

She attended Ryan International School in Delhi and later graduated from Gargi College. Before entering cinema, Malhotra was a trained contemporary and ballet dancer.

After college, she participated in the reality dance show "Dance India Dance," where she made it to the top 100 contestants. She then moved to Mumbai to pursue her acting career, where she auditioned for various roles and worked as a camera assistant for television commercials.

She made her notable debut in 2016 as Babita Kumari Phogat in the sports biopic "Dangal," starring alongside Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

The film became one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever, and her portrayal of the gold-medalist wrestler earned her widespread recognition. She also choreographed Aamir Khan for the song "Sexy Baliye" in the 2017 film "Secret Superstar," in which she appeared.

In 2018, she appeared in two films: Vishal Bhardwaj's "Pataakha," where she played Genda Kumari, and Amit Ravindernath Sharma's comedy "Badhaai Ho," in which she portrayed Renee Sharma.
