Sanaya Irani

Sanaya Irani is an Indian actress, dancer, and model who has worked extensively in Hindi television and film since 2006. She was born on September 17, 1983, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and comes from a Parsi family.

She attended a boarding school in Ooty for seven years during her childhood. She later graduated from Sydenham College in Mumbai. Although she initially wanted to pursue an MBA after college, her mother persuaded her to enter the modeling industry, where she had been described as a studious student. Her first portfolio was shot by photographer-turned-actor Boman Irani.

Sanaya Irani made her acting debut with a cameo role as Mehbooba (also called "Bobo") in the Yash Raj Films movie Fanaa in 2006, alongside Shahrukh Khan. Before transitioning to television, she modeled for various ad commercials with actors including Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Kareena Kapoor.

Her television career began with SAB TV's show Left Right Left, where she played Cadet Sameera Shroff opposite Arjun Bijlani.

She subsequently appeared in shows such as Meethi Chhori No.1, Welcome: Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki, and Chhanchhan. Her first lead role was as Gunjan Bhushan in Star One's youth show Miley Jab Hum Tum (2008–2010), which earned her widespread recognition. She also played the glamorous character Sanaya in Radha Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dekhayngi in 2008.

She gained massive popularity for her role as Khushi Kumari Gupta in Star Plus's hit series Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? (2011), where she starred opposite Mohit Sehgal. She later played Parvati Rudra Pratap Ranwat in the popular show Rangrasiya (2013), again opposite Ashish Sharma. In 2019, she appeared in Vikram Bhatt's horror film Ghost.

She showcased her dancing talent as a finalist in the eighth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2015. She also hosted the TV show Zara Nachke Dikha – Season 2.

She won the ITA Face of the Year Award in 2008. In 2012, she received the Superhit Star Female TV Fiction award at the Big Star Young Entertainer Awards. Her other accolades include the Indian Television Academy Awards (2008) Gr8! Face (female) for Miley Jab Hum Tum and the People's Choice Awards India (2012) Favourite Onscreen Jodi for Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?.

Sanaya Irani got engaged to her co-star Mohit Sehgal from Miley Jab Hum Tum in December 2015, and they married on January 25, 2016, in Goa, India.
