Sana Makbul

Sana Makbul (born Sana Makbul Khan on 13 June 1993) is an Indian model and actress who predominantly works in Hindi television as well as Telugu and Tamil films.

She was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India, and completed her schooling at Mumbai Public School before pursuing graduation from R.D. National College in Mumbai, where she developed an interest in modeling and acting.

She began her career as a model, appearing in TV commercials and shows, with her first television appearance in 2009 on MTV's reality show Scooty Teen Diva.

In 2010, she starred in the teen musical series Ishaan: Sapno Ko Awaaz De, followed by roles in Kitani Mohabbat Hai Season 2 (2011) and Arjun (2012).

A significant turning point came in 2012 when she participated in the Femina Miss India pageant and won the Femina Miss Beautiful Smile title, which opened doors to numerous opportunities in the entertainment world.

In 2014, she changed her name from Sana Khan to Sana Makbul Khan for her acting career.

Her film debut occurred in 2014 with the Telugu romantic comedy Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, in which she portrayed Samhitha, an aerobics trainer involved in a love triangle. She later appeared in the 2017 Tamil crime thriller Rangoon, playing Natasha alongside Gautham Karthik.

On television, she is best known for her role as Lavanya Kashyap in StarPlus's romantic daily soap Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? and as Dr. Aliya Kothari (née Sanyal) in Colors TV's supernatural drama Vish.

She expanded her presence into reality television, participating in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 in 2021, which was filmed in Cape Town and where she reached the semifinals, showcasing her strength and determination through daredevil stunts.

She achieved major fame in 2024 by winning the third season of Bigg Boss OTT, the Indian adaptation of Big Brother. Her mother is Malayali, reflecting her mixed cultural background.
