Roopa Iyer (born July 24, 1982) is an Indian film director, actor, dancer, choreographer, fashion model, corporate executive, humanitarian, philanthropist, and philosopher. She was born in Belakavadi, Karnataka, India, in a Tamil Brahmin family.
She trained in Bharatanatyam and Kathak dance from a young age and later started a dance school in Bellur, Mandya District, for young girls.
After completing her master's in Commerce, she entered the modeling industry and was crowned Best Female Model and Fair & Lovely Miss, as well as Beautiful Skin – Miss Karnataka in 1999. She commenced her career in films and eventually ventured into film direction.

As an actor, she played the lead actress in the movie Daatu. She directed, wrote, and produced her debut film as a director and producer, Mukhaputa (also known as Mukhaputa - The Cover Page or The Cover Page), released in 2010.
The film received eight international awards and two state awards from the Government of Karnataka, including the award for best socially concerned movie of the year 2010. In 2013, she directed and produced her bilingual big-budget film Chandra in Kannada and Tamil. She has also been known for other works including Colors (2017) and Azad Bharath.
She is the recipient of multiple awards for her artistic achievement in film. She is known for her selfless contribution to society and for creating awareness about HIV/AIDS among people through her company ICA (International Creative Art).
She has participated in more than a dozen films ranging from direction to acting and has orchestrated numerous musical and dance events in dozens of countries around the world to support children infected with HIV.
Roopa Iyer is married to renowned musician Gautam Shrivatsa. She has succeeded at her craft for the past 20 years, balancing creativity with compassion in all her endeavors.
