Rohini

Rohini (born Rohini Noni on December 15, 1969, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) is an Indian actress, voice actor, lyricist, screenwriter, and director who predominantly works in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, with notable appearances in Telugu, Kannada, and a few English films.

She was born into a Tamil-speaking family in Chennai and developed an interest in acting from a very young age. 

Rohini made her acting debut as a child artist at the age of five or six, appearing in the Malayalam film "Manmadha Leelai" in 1978, and has since appeared in over 130 films across South Indian film industries.

Throughout her illustrious career spanning more than four decades, she became one of the most sought-after actresses in the Malayalam film industry during the 1980s, which marked the most prolific phase of her career.

She delivered notable performances in films such as "Parannu Parannu Parannu" (1984), "Akalathe Ambili" (1985), "January Oru Orma" (1987), "Virumaandi" (2004), "Thalappavu" (2008), "3" (2012), and "Baahubali: The Beginning" (2015). Her role as Rangi in the 1995 Telugu film "Stri" earned her a National Film Award for Special Mention, and she was later honored with the Andhra Pradesh National Award for Best Female Actress for the same film in 1996.

In addition to her acting work, she has been a prominent dubbing artist, lending her voice to notable actresses including Aishwarya Rai (Deepika) and Jyothika in South Indian films.

She has also directed documentaries and feature films focusing on social issues, such as "Silent Hues" and "Appavin Meesai," and has hosted various television shows that address important societal matters.

She was married to actor Raghuvaran, and she has continued her career actively, receiving recognition for supporting roles in recent films like "Guppy" (2016) and "Action Hero Biju" (2016).
