Rinku Rajguru

Prerana “Rinku” Mahadeo Rajguru (born 3 June 2001) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Marathi and Hindi language films.

She was born in the town of Akluj in the Solapur district of Maharashtra to parents Mahadev Rajguru and Asha Rajguru, both of whom are teachers by profession.

She made her cinematic debut in 2016 with Nagraj Manjule’s blockbuster Marathi film Sairat, where she was cast as the lead actress Archana (Archi) despite being only in the 7th standard and not traditionally considered good-looking.

At the time of her casting, she met Manjule in 2013, and the role was finalized one year later. In Sairat, she performed her own stunts, including jumping into a well, riding a Bullet motorcycle (traditionally a men’s bike), and driving a tractor. The film’s massive success made her and her co-star Akash Thosar instant celebrities, and they appeared on Kapil Sharma’s TV show and participated in numerous interviews and events.

For her performance in Sairat, she won the National Film Award – Special Jury Award/Special Mention (Feature Film) at the 63rd National Film Awards, making her one of the youngest actresses to be named in the national awards.

She also received a Maharashtra State Film Award and two Filmfare Awards Marathi for the same role. She later reprised her role in the Kannada remake of Sairat, titled Manasu Mallige.

Following Sairat, she appeared in several Marathi films including Kaagar (2018), Makeup, and Aathava Rang Premacha (2022), where she played Krutika. She expanded into digital space in 2020 with Hotstar’s action-comedy Hundred, debuting alongside Lara Dutta. In 2021, she appeared in ZEE5’s 200 Halla Ho and in Ankahi Kahaniya (part of Unpaused), where she played Priyanka. Rajguru made her Bollywood debut in 2022 with Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund.

She also appeared in Jhimma 2 (2023), playing Taniya, and in Choomantar (2023).
