Richa Chaddha

Richa Chaddha (Richa Chadha) is an Indian actress born on December 18, 1986, in Amritsar, Punjab. When she was two years old in 1984, her family relocated to Delhi during the Sikh riots, and she was raised there.

She attended Sardar Patel Vidyalaya for her schooling and later studied History at St. Stephen's College in Delhi, followed by a diploma in Social Communication Media from Sophia College in Mumbai.

She began her career as a model and also worked as an intern at a men's fashion magazine before turning to theater, where she performed extensively. Her acting debut came in 2008 with Dibakar Banerjee's film "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!" in a supporting role. She next appeared in the 2010 comedy "Benny and Babloo".

Her breakthrough arrived in 2012 with a supporting role in Anurag Kashyap's gangster saga "Gangs of Wasseypur," which earned her a Filmfare Award.

In 2013, she gained widespread popularity for her comedic role as "Bholi Punjaban" (Sapna) in "Fukrey," a character she reprised in "Fukrey Returns" (2017) and "Fukrey 3" (2023). She also appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" (2013). Her first leading role came in 2015 with Neeraj Ghaywan's critically acclaimed film "Masaan," which premiered at international film festivals.

She has continued to deliver notable performances in films such as "Main Aur Charles" (2015), "Sarbjit" (2016), "3 Storeys" (2018), "Love Sonia" (2018), "Section 375" (2019), "Shakeela" (2020), "Panga" (2020), and "Madam Chief Minister" (2021). She also served as a producer on the 2024 film "Girls Will Be Girls".
