Ratan Rajput

Ratan Rajput (born 20 April 1987) is an Indian television actress best known for her portrayal of Laali in the popular Zee TV drama Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and as Princess Amba in the 2013 mythological series Mahabharat.

Born in Patna, Bihar, she grew up in a modest family with four older sisters (Sunita, Kiran, Seema, and Ragini) and one younger brother (Shashank), and completed her education in Merth, Uttar Pradesh.

She began her acting career in 2006 with the mythological series Raavan on Zee TV, where she played Chandernakha, Ravan's sister. She then appeared in Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi as Ruchi Sharma, but her breakthrough came with Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo (2009–2011), where she portrayed Laali, a strong lower-class woman sold to a wealthy family by her parents.

This role made her a household name across India and earned her critical acclaim. For her performance as Laali, she won multiple awards including the Zee Rishtey Awards (2009), Indian Telly Awards (2009), Indian Television Academy Awards (2009), and Gold Awards (2010).

Beyond her dramatic roles, she participated in several reality shows. She was a contestant on Swayamvar Season 3: Ratan Ka Rishta, an Indian version of The Bachelorette, where men competed to marry her; she selected a partner but did not ultimately marry him. She also appeared on Bigg Boss 7 but was evicted on the 28th day after four weeks in the house.

Her other television appearances include Fear Files, Fanaa, and the mythological show Santoshi Maa, where she plays Santoshi with long hair and ethnic outfits.

She is known for her beauty, simplicity, and passion for acting, and she maintains a friendship with actress Shweta Tiwari, having attended the latter's baby shower party. She remains unmarried, practices yoga as a hobby, and continues to work in Indian television with her career spanning from 2006 to the present.
