Rambha

Vijayalakshmi, better known by her stage name Rambha, is an Indian former film actress born on June 5, 1976, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India.

She acted extensively in South Indian cinema as well as Bollywood films, appearing in over 100 movies across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Bengali, and Bhojpuri languages.

She made her acting debut in 1992 with the Malayalam film "Sargam" opposite Vineeth, a film that received a National Award and for which she won a State Award for her performance.

Her career officially began in 1993 with the Kannada movie "Server Somanna" opposite Jaggesh, and she also appeared in the Telugu film "Aa Okkati Adakku" directed by E.V.V. Sathyanarayana that same year. She initially used the screen name "Amritha" before it was changed to "Rambha".

The 1996 Tamil film "Ullathai Allitha" became her biggest hit and provided her major breakthrough, establishing her as a popular actress in the film industry.

In Bollywood, she gained recognition for her uncanny resemblance to Divya Bharati, an actress who died during her popular stint in Bollywood. She appeared in several notable Hindi films including "Judwaa" (1997), "Gharwali Baharwali" (1998), "Krodh" (2000), and "Beti No.1" (2000).

People particularly loved her glamour roles and her gorgeous smile on the silver screen throughout her career. In 2003, she made her debut as a producer with the film "Three Roses".

After her marriage, she took a break from films and subsequently judged popular television shows such as "Maanada Mayilada" and "Dhee". She maintained a successful balance across multiple regional language industries throughout her active career in the 1990s and early 2000s.
