Rachana Narayanankutty

Rachana Narayanankutty is an Indian actress, Kuchipudi dancer, and television presenter who works prominently in the Malayalam film and television industry.

She was born on April 4, 1983. Narayanankutty rose to prominence through her role in the television series Marimayam, which aired on Mazhavil Manorama.

She began her acting career in 2001 with a small cameo role as the heroine's friend in the film Theerthadanam, directed by Kannan and starring Jayaram and Suhasini.

Though the role was minimal, she considers it a gratifying experience to have started her career with a film scripted by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. Before her acting breakthrough, she worked as an instructor of Communicative English at Devamatha CBSE School in Thrissur and later as an RJ at Radio Mango in Thrissur after graduating.

A producer spotted her on radio and cast her in Marimayam. She had initially intended to act in only a single episode but continued due to the overwhelming response her character received.

In 2013, she made her debut as a lead actress with the comedy-drama Lucky Star, directed by Deepu Anthikkadu and starring Jayaram, Mukesh, and herself. She subsequently appeared in supporting roles in notable films including Amen (2013), directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and starring Indrajith, Swati Reddy, and Fahad Fazil.

Her portrayal of Clara in Amen earned her critical acclaim. She also gained recognition for her role as Advocate Sai in Punyalan Agarbattis (2013), directed by Ranjith Shankar and starring Jayasurya.

Other significant acting credits include Nizhalkkuthu (2003), Double Barrel (2015), Thrissivaperoor Kliptham (2017), Mohabathin Kunjabdulla (2019), and Black Coffee (2021). She has also appeared in Vallatha Pahayan (2013), Ithu Thaanda Police - Driver On Duty (2016), Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare (2015), and Ain (2014). Her films Life of Josutty, Thilothama, and Puthiya Niyamam brought her widespread acclaim in the Mollywood industry.

In television, she hosted the Mazhavil Manorama reality show Comedy Festival and served as a judge on the Asianet programme Comedy Express. She has also appeared in advertisements. Her career spans over two decades in Malayalam cinema and television, establishing her as a versatile performer in supporting and lead roles.
