Purbi Joshi

Purbi Joshi is an Indian television actress, comedienne, voice-dubbing actress, performer, and television show anchor who was born on 19 August 1974 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

She is the daughter of renowned theatre personalities actor-director Pravin Joshi and National Award-winning actress Sarita Joshi, and she is the sister of actress Ketki Dave. Growing up backstage with her parents, she learned the intricacies of acting, directing, and theatre from an early age.

Before entering television, Purbi Joshi began her career as a model in the mid-1990s, appearing in commercials for brands such as Shogun Tissues, Wintershield Cream, Thomson TV, Iodex, Liberty Footwear, Johnson & Johnson, Happy Dent, and Nirma washing powder.

In 1995, she received her first television break in the serial "Faasle" while simultaneously performing in a comedy play called "Take it Easy". She later entered the ABCL talent contest and was shortlisted among the top ten contestants.

Her television career expanded with roles in serials including "Shenai" from UTV, "Sajjid No 1" on Star Plus, episodes of "Hum Paanch," and one of the sisters in "Mehendi Tere Naam Ki" on Zee TV, with the latter making her a well-known face in the industry.

She also began her TV career with the appearance of "Dishayen" on DD National. Purbi Joshi gained massive popularity through her performances in "The Incredible Indian Comedy Show" on Star One and participated in multiple seasons of "Comedy Circus" on Sony TV, where she also served as a host.

She has hosted several seasons of Comedy Circus and continues to be recognized for her versatility, comedic timing, and charming on-screen presence.

In films, Purbi Joshi made her Bollywood debut with "Dasvidaniya" in 2008 and subsequently appeared in movies including "Sky Ki Umeed" (2010) and "Damadamm!" (2011). She is also known for her roles in "Hala," "Metro Park," and "Metro Park: Quarantine Edition".

In her personal life, she married Valentino Fehlmann in 2014. Purbi Joshi has made significant contributions to the Indian television industry for over two decades and is celebrated for her energetic presence and flexible acting abilities.
