Preetika Rao is an Indian actress and film columnist who primarily works in Hindi television. She was born on May 29, 1992, in Mangaluru (also known as Mangalore), Karnataka, India.

She comes from a Konkani-speaking Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin family originally from Karnataka but raised in Mumbai.

Her father, Deepak Rao, owns an advertising agency in Mumbai, and her mother is a housewife. She is the younger sister of Bollywood actress Amrita Rao.

She made her acting debut with the Tamil film Chikku Bukku in 2010, where she played the character Meenal. After her debut, she relocated to the United States to complete a diploma in broadcast journalism at the New York Film Academy in New York.

She earned a diploma in journalism and advertising from Sophia College in Mumbai, where she majored in history. During her studies at Sophia College, she began contributing as a film columnist to publications including the Deccan Chronicle, the Asian Age, and Bangalore Mirror.

She is best known for her portrayal of Aaliya Haider Abdullah (also called Aaliya Zain Abdullah) in the Colors TV serial Beintehaa, which aired from 2013 to 2014. This role became a household name and earned her multiple awards, including the Gold Award for Best Debut–Female, the Zee Gold Best Debut award, and the ITA Performer of the Year award in 2014–2015.

Beintehaa gained international recognition and was dubbed and released in countries including the Middle East, U.A.E., East Africa (Tanzania), South Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan Afghanistan. In 2015, she won the Best Actress award at the Kalakar Awards held in Kolkata.

Following Beintehaa, she appeared in regional cinema and additional television shows. She played Mohini Ranawat in the television series Love Ka Hai Intezaar in 2017. She has also participated in TV reality shows, including appearing as a guest on Bigg Boss 7 on Colors TV.

She has modeled for over 250 prestigious brands since her modeling career began in her early teens. She is currently unmarried and belongs to the Hindu religion. Her height is 1.65 meters (5 feet 5 inches), and she has black hair and brown eyes.
