Priyanka Trivedi

Priyanka Trivedi, now known as Priyanka Upendra, is an Indian actress born on November 9, 1977, in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal, India.

She predominantly appears in Kannada films and has also acted in Tamil, Bengali, Hindi, Telugu, and Odia language films. Her mother is from West Bengal and her father is from Uttar Pradesh, and she grew up in a Bengali family. She spent ten years of her schooling in the United States and about three years in Singapore before returning to India to graduate with a commerce degree from a college in Kolkata.

She won the Miss Kolkata title in 1996 and subsequently pursued various modeling assignments. She appeared in television commercials for brands such as Britannia, Orient Electric, and Pillsbury before entering the film industry.

Her cinematic debut came when director Basu Chatterjee cast her in his first Bengali film, "Hothat Brishti" in 1998. She went on to make two more films with Chatterjee: "Chupi Chupi" (2001) and "Tak Jhal Mishti" (2002).

She initially debuted in Bengali cinema with the film "Yoddha". Priyanka gained significant recognition for her role in the Bengali hit film "Saathi," which set new trends in the Bengali film industry. She won critical acclaim for her performances in the Kannada films "Malla" and "H2O".

Priyanka Trivedi is widely popular in Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil cinema. She is married to Upendra, a famous Kannada cinema director, actor, and script writer.

The couple has two children: a son named Ayush Upendra, born in 2007, and a daughter named Aishwarya Upendra, born in November 2008. She described herself as "a little introverted, pretty flexible as a person, a good listener and overtly sensitive".
