Priya Bhavani Shankar (full name Sathyapriya Bhavani Shankar) is an Indian actress and former television presenter who predominantly works in Tamil cinema, with a few appearances in Telugu films. She was born on December 31, 1989, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Priya completed her Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai.

After graduation, she began her career as a software engineer with Infosys Limited but quit the job to pursue a career in media. She later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) after entering the media industry. Her mother tongue is Tamil, and she is fluent in English, Hindi, and Tamil.

She started her media career as a news presenter on Puthiya Thalaimurai TV before transitioning to television hosting. She gained significant popularity through her breakthrough role as Priya Arjun Swaminathan in the Star Vijay soap opera "Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai," where she played the lead character.

During her television career, she served as a celebrity host on several popular Star Vijay shows, including "Jodi Number One," "Airtel Super Singer Season 5," and "Airtel Super Singer Junior". She also hosted the Filmfare Awards South in 2015, which was aired on Star Vijay.
