Preeti Jhangiani

Preeti Jhangiani (born 18 August 1980) is an Indian actress and model who primarily works in Hindi and Telugu films.

She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a Sindhi Hindu family as the daughter of Gobind Jhangiani and Menka Jhangiani, and she has one sister. Jhangiani is fluent in Kannada, Sindhi, Hindi, and English.

She entered the entertainment industry through Rajshri Productions' video album Yeh Hai Prem in 1997, where she appeared opposite Abbas, which made both of them and the koala symbol used in the album famous. Following this, she appeared in Nirma Sandal soap advertisements and various other ads.

She started her film career with South Indian films, acting in the Telugu movie Thammudu (1999) alongside Pawan Kalyan and the Malayalam film Mazhavillu (1999) with Kunchacko Boban.

Her Bollywood debut came with the multi-starrer romantic film Mohabbatein (2000), which was a great hit. For her role as "Kiran" in Mohabbatein, she earned the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female.

Her subsequent films include Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Waah! Tera Kya Kehna (2002), Annarth (2002), LOC Kargil (2003), Chehraa (2005), Chaahat Ek Nasha (2005), Ssukh (2005), Chand Ke Paar Chalo (2006), Aan: Men at Work (2004), and Narasimha Naidu (2001).

She also acted in Punjabi films such as Sajna ve Sajna and Bikker Bai Sentimental. In 2017, she appeared in the Rajasthani film Taawdo: The Sunlight, directed by Vijay Suthar, where she portrayed a lower-caste woman. For this role, she won the Best Actress award at the Rajasthan Film Festival and received a special jury award for best actress at the Rajasthan Film Festival 2017.

Her 2019 release includes Jai Chhathi Maa. She was also seen in The Pushkar Lodge more recently. In 2012, Jhangiani stated that she would make a comeback to the film industry after matrimony and motherhood.

She got married to actor Parvin Dabas on 23 March 2008. Together they have two sons: Jaiveer (also spelled Jaivesh), born on 11 April 2011, and Dev, born on 27 September 2016. The family lives in Bandra, Mumbai. Her motto in life is, "Go for your dreams and live and let live".
