Kranti Redkar is an Indian film actress and director who primarily works in Marathi cinema. She was born on 17 August 1982 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, into a Marathi Bhandari family.

Her parents are Dinanath Redkar, an actor, producer, director, and writer, and Urmila Redkar.

She was brought up in Mumbai and began acting at the age of five, though she initially was not interested in pursuing acting professionally. Her interest in the field grew when she received offers for commercial plays, and she started thinking seriously about acting. She is an excellent dancer and has performed in numerous award functions and stage shows.

Her debut Marathi film was "Soon Asavi Ashi" (also spelled "Sun Asaw' Ashi") in 2000, where she played opposite Ankush Choudhary. She gained her first round of true success with the song "Kombdi Palali" from the 2005 Marathi comedy film "Jatra: Hyalagaad Re Tyalagaad," where she performed with Bharat Jadhav. This cult hit song became one of her most recognizable performances.

Kranti Redkar also appeared in Bollywood cinema, playing a pivotal role as Apoorva Kumari, a kidnapped girl, in Prakash Jha's 2003 Hindi film "Gangaajal" starring Ajay Devgn and Gracy Singh. Her small role in this Prakash Jha-directed movie was well noticed.

Among her notable Marathi films are "Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho" (2010), "Majha Navra Tujhi Bayko" (2006), "Shahanpan Dega Deva," "Kho-Kho," "Murder Mestri," "Karaar" (2017), "The Letters" (2015), "Sugar Salt Ani Prem" (2015), and "Truckbhar Swapna" (2018). She also worked in the American biographical film "The Letters".

In 2013, she was involved in a match-fixing controversy and later filed a defamation suit against the TV channel that linked her to this scandal. In 2015, she made her directorial debut with the Marathi film "Kaakan," starring Jitendra Joshi and Urmila Kanitkar.

Kranti Redkar is married to Sameer Wankhede. Her career spans both Marathi television, stage, and film, establishing her as a popular and versatile performer in Indian cinema.
