Ayesha Takia was born on April 10, 1986, in Mumbai, India. She was brought up in a mixed cultural environment, as her father is of Gujarati Hindu descent and her mother is of Anglo-Indian descent. Her father, Nishit Takia, is a restaurateur, and her mother, Faridah Takia, is a half-British and half-Marathi woman. She has a younger sister named Natasha.
