Pakistani TikToker Ayesha Gilani Shot Dead at 28 in Targeted Attack

Pakistan's social media community has been left shocked after the tragic killing of popular TikToker Ayesha Gilani, also known as Shamsu Bibi, who was shot dead in Taxila on August 14, 2026. The 28-year-old content creator, who had built a significant following on TikTok, was reportedly attacked by unidentified gunmen while traveling with her siblings.

What Happened?

According to police reports and statements filed by her family, Ayesha Gilani received a phone call from a man identified as Kashif alias "Kashi", who allegedly asked her to come outside her home. Shortly afterward, she left in a vehicle accompanied by her younger sister Aseema and brother Naimatullah.

While the vehicle was passing near a petrol station in Taxila, two unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle allegedly opened fire. One of the bullets struck Ayesha Gilani in the neck, killing her on the spot. The shooting caused the vehicle to lose control and crash, leaving her 15-year-old sister seriously injured.

Authorities have reportedly obtained CCTV footage showing two men fleeing the scene on a motorcycle shortly after the attack. Investigators are reviewing the footage in an effort to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the killing.

Police have launched a formal investigation and are examining multiple angles, including whether the attack was pre-planned.

Family Suspects Financial Dispute

In his police complaint, Ayesha's father, Fazal Sahibzada, alleged that his daughter had been involved in an ongoing financial dispute with two individuals identified as Kausar and Javed alias Shaheen. He claimed that Ayesha Gilani had previously received death threats linked to demands for repayment of money and had even filed a complaint against the individuals in Islamabad.

The family believes the dispute may be connected to the fatal shooting, although authorities have not yet confirmed any motive. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and question potential suspects.

Ayesha Gilani had become a recognizable figure on Pakistani TikTok over the past several years. According to her family, she had accumulated around 1.3 million followers and tens of millions of likes on the platform, making her one of the region's notable digital personalities.

Her sudden death has sparked an outpouring of grief online, with fans and fellow creators expressing condolences and demanding justice. The incident has also reignited concerns about the safety of social media influencers in Pakistan.

The killing of Ayesha Gilani highlights the increasing risks faced by public figures and content creators whose online visibility often exposes them to threats, harassment, and targeted violence. As social media continues to grow in influence across South Asia, calls for stronger protections and faster action against threats directed at digital creators are becoming louder.

As of now, no arrests have been officially announced. Police are reviewing CCTV footage, witness statements, and evidence linked to the alleged financial dispute. Authorities have assured the public that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible.

The tragic death of Ayesha Gilani has left her family, followers, and Pakistan's social media community seeking answers. With the investigation continuing, many are hoping that justice will be delivered swiftly and transparently.
