Vistasp Karbhari is an Indian-American academic and former university administrator. He was born in India and later became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Karbhari is known for his work in the field of structural engineering, particularly in the area of aerospace structures. He has authored numerous publications and holds patents related to composite materials and structural mechanics. Karbhari served as the president of The University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington) from 2013 to 2020. Under his leadership, UT Arlington experienced significant growth and advancement in various areas, including research, student enrollment, and campus infrastructure. Prior to his presidency at UT Arlington, Karbhari held academic positions at various institutions, including the University of California, San Diego.
