Manish Dayal

Manish Dayal, born Manish Sudhir Patel on June 17, 1983, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, U.S., is an American actor best known for his roles in television dramas and feature films.

He was born to an Indian family; his parents, Hema and Sudhir Patel, are from Gujarat, India. He has two older siblings and one younger sibling.

Manish Dayal attended George Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies. His first acting experience came in 2005 when he impulsively auditioned for a short film while still a college student.

After completing his college education at George Washington University, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in television and film. He began his professional career by appearing in television commercials for renowned brands such as McDonald's, Windows, Domino's Pizza, and Nintendo. He also performed in an off-Broadway production of "Rafta, Rafta".

Manish Dayal got his first significant break on screen with the 2006 feature film "Indian Beauty". He first gained notable recognition for his role as Raj Kher, the doting boyfriend, in the CW teen drama series "90210" (2011–2012). During his career, he also had a recurring role as Hal on the AMC series "Rubicon" and appeared in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" (2010) and "White Frog" (2012).

His most prominent film role was as Hassan Kadam in Disney's "The Hundred-Foot Journey" (2014), directed by Lasse Hallström. He also appeared in "I'm Obsessed with You" (2014) and played a role in the British-Indian historical drama "Viceroy's House" (2017), directed by Gurinder Chadha.

From 2018 to 2023, he was a main cast member of the Fox medical drama series "The Resident," where he played the role of Dr. Hafiz "Hafi" Hassan. He also appeared as Vijay Nadeer in Season 4 of the ABC/Marvel Television series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.".
