Arvind Panagariya is an Indian economist, professor, and policy analyst known for his significant contributions to the fields of economics and international trade. He was born on September 30, 1952, in Naranpur, India. Panagariya has held various influential positions, both in academia and in the government, and has been actively involved in shaping economic policies in India. Arvind Panagariya earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Rajasthan University and went on to pursue a Master's degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. He later obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University in the United States. He started his academic career at the University of Maryland, where he taught economics and held important administrative positions. Later, he became a professor of economics at Columbia University in the United States, where he continued his research and teaching for many years.
