Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao, commonly known as C.R. Rao, is an eminent Indian-American statistician and mathematician. He was born on September 10, 1920, in India. C.R. Rao is considered one of the world's foremost statisticians and has made significant contributions to the field of statistics and mathematics. He has had a remarkable academic career and has held numerous prestigious positions throughout his life. Rao obtained his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Andhra University and then pursued his master's degree in statistics from Calcutta University. He later earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
