Subra Suresh is an eminent scientist, engineer, and academician. He was born on January 30, 1956, in Chennai, India. Suresh has made significant contributions to the fields of materials science, mechanical engineering, and biotechnology. Throughout his career, Suresh held various academic positions at renowned institutions. He served as a faculty member at Brown University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). At MIT, he held the position of Dean of the School of Engineering from 2007 to 2010. In 2010, he became the ninth President of CMU, where he served until 2017.
