Pramod Khargonekar is an Indian-American academic and engineer. He is known for his expertise in electrical engineering and his contributions to the field of energy research. Khargonekar has held various prominent positions in academia and government, and he has made significant contributions to research, teaching, and leadership. Khargonekar earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in 1977. He then pursued his higher education in the United States, obtaining a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida in 1979 and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1981.
