Mithun Chakraborty is an Indian actor and politician. He was born on June 16, 1950, in Barisal, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). He has appeared in over 350 films in a career spanning more than four decades.
Mithun Chakraborty started his acting career with the art house drama film "Mrigayaa" in 1976, which won him the National Film Award for Best Actor. He became popular with his roles in Hindi commercial cinema in the 1980s and 1990s, where he often played the lead or the villain.
