Konkona Sen Sharma (born 3 December 1979 in New Delhi, India) is a celebrated Indian actress and filmmaker renowned for her powerful performances in both independent and mainstream cinema across Bengali, Hindi, and English-language films.
She is the daughter of acclaimed filmmaker and actress Aparna Sen, which placed her within India's film industry from childhood, having made her debut as a child artist in the 1983 film Indira.
Her adult film career officially began with the Bengali thriller Ek Je Aachhe Kanya in 2000, but she first gained widespread recognition and critical acclaim for her starring role in Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (2002), directed by her mother Aparna Sen.
